Course Goals
The following course goals articulate the general objectives and purpose of this course.
- Our goal is to accelerate every child to the next level in mathematics by challenging and encouraging them to do their best.
- Students will gain proficiency in the following topics:
Logical reasoning
Lines and triangles Polygons and quadrilaterals Coordinate geometry Transformations |
Area and perimeter
Three-dimensional figures Similarity Right triangles Circles |
- Students will also identify and apply real-life applications and data connecting mathematical relationships across disciplines and reflection through journal writings.
- The development of problem-solving skills is a major goal of the mathematics program. Instruction in the process of problem solving will help students develop a wide range of skills and strategies for solving a variety of problem types.
